Lexington Park, MD — The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) has named an Aviation Systems Engineering Company (ASEC, Inc.) employee as the 2013 Tester of the Year for Navy Contractors. Terry “T.J.” Johnson was recognized for his efforts as the P-8A Operational Lead Test Engineer/Analyst for Air Test and Evaluation Squadron ONE (VX-1).
Every year, the NDIA recognizes outstanding individuals in the field of Test & Evaluation (T&E). The Tester of the Year awards are given in three categories: military, civilian, and contractor.
According to NDIA President and CEO Lt. Gen. Farrell, Mr. Johnson “masterfully planned, executed and evaluated 213 test sorties, encompassing 790.5 hours of Operational test…His knowledge of acquisition programs and unsurpassed operational test acumen ensured the most efficient and accurate collection, analysis and report of test data possible.”
Mr. Johnson was honored by the award but insisted that his work was part of, “a huge team effort that would not have been possible without the dedicated and professional support of VX-1 P-8A aircrew, maintainers, and fellow analysts.” Mr. Johnson and his team are now lending their expertise in support of P-8 Increment 2 efforts.
