Lockblade: High Altitude Delivery of Sensors and Payloads
The world’s first over-water detection of a target representative magnetic signature from a disposable autonomous quadcopter.
Lockblade deploys a sensor-equipped folding quadcopter from an A-size sonotube, execute an autonomous search pattern, and transmit data on a target of interest real-time. It eliminates the need for a patrol aircraft performing high altitude ASW or ISR&T to descend to low altitude to within sensor range and/or below obscuring weather, then return to onstation altitude (potentially through icing/wx), thus increasing time on station. It allows remote and precise placement of unattended ground sensors (UGS) or other payloads from sanctuary altitudes. It also integrates into existing aircraft architecture.
